There have been many Gidget's but none compare to Sandra Dee. Actually in the other Gidget movies (yes I've watched and capped them) they were so annoying I was rooting against them.
Sandra Dee is the most adorable Gidget. I have a real soft spot for Sally Field as the TV Gidget, though. Such a fun, colorful '60s show, with lots of great fashions. :)
When you say "there have been many Gidgets" you don't need an apostrophe between the "t" and the "s". You only would need one if you were showing possession (something which belonged to Gidget, like one Gidget's surfboard or all the Gidgets' surfboards). You have used it incorrectly to show a plural (as in many Gidgets).

I haven't seen the TV show. I think I was partly disappointed that Sandra wasn't in the movie sequels. At least Moon Doggie was the same!
So much fun watching these surfer movies of old....I love me some Gidge!
